Overview

This article will teach you to set up your email using a mobile device such as an Apple iPhone or iPad. You will need to ensure you have created your email addresses within your web hosting control panel or have existing mail boxes.

In the following examples replace the example information with the correct account information, i.e:

  • John Smith = <Your Name>
  • johnsmith@partnerconsole.net = <your.email@yourdomainname.tld>
  • partnerconsole.net = <yourdomainname.tld>

Instructions


To Setup an email account with iPhone

1. From the home screen of your iPhone click Settings.

2. Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

3. In the Accounts section select Add Account…

4. On the Add Account page select Other.

5. Click Add Mail Account.

6. On the New Account page, complete the following details.

Your Name: The name to be displayed when sending email.
Address: The email address, e.g. johnsmith@example.com.
Password: The password used for this email account.
Description : Any text description.

7. Click Save.

The iPhone may attempt to automatically retrieve the server settings. If it fails this attempts you should configure the settings manually.

8. Select IMAP or POP from the mail account types.

9. Complete the corresponding information.

Your Name: The name to be displayed when sending email.
Address: The email address, e.g. johnsmith@example.com.
Password: The password used for this email account.
Incoming Host Name: pop.partnerconsole.net (if you selected POP (in step 8)) or imap.partnerconsole.net (if you selected IMAP (in step 8)).
Outgoing Host Name:smtp.partnerconsole.net or your Internet Service Provider’s (ISP) outgoing mail server.

10. Click Save.
Note: You may be asked to set the account up without SSL. Select Yes.

11. The email account is displayed in the Account list.  Select the email account.

12. Scroll down and select Outgoing Mail Server- smtp.partnerconsole.net.

13. Complete the following information if not already completed:

SSL: Off.
Authentication:  Password.
Server Port587.

You’re now complete. Test by sending an email to the account.
